Hi, I have a window in the bathroom that's directly in the shower, above the tub. It's an older window, and the frame has been painted many times.

We cleaned it up and re-painted it about 8 months ago, and now it looks just as gross as it did before we painted. The paint is chipping badly, and the chain and some other areas are rusty.

Any suggestions for either fixing the problem, or replacing the window with something that will work for this situation? Has anyone had this problem before, and found a successful solution?

Emilie,
My suggestion would be to replace the window....less frustration & expense down the road, especially if it's a rental property. Depending on the age of the house, style, size of opening, etc., you may want to consider a vented glass block window. Extremely low maintenance and privacy.
